About the Team
Harvard Business School Executive Education brings together senior executives from the world’s most influential organizations, resulting in unparalleled diversity. We achieve our mission by working closely with faculty to design and deliver over 130 open enrollment and custom programs to over 13,000 participants annually, from over 130 countries. Open enrollment programs range from a few days to a few weeks over a period of months, while custom engagements help largely Fortune 1000 companies implement strategic changes and build organizational capabilities.
Most programs are delivered on the HBS campus, where Executive Education has nine dedicated classrooms and more than 500 dedicated bedrooms in three executive residences. To meet the diverse needs of our community, our programming now includes in-person, virtual, and blended options. The Executive Education department consists of open enrollment, global, and custom program portfolio management; guest services; marketing; corporate sales; program operations; technology services; enrollment and admissions; and finance.
What you’ll Do:
The Client Development Director leads business development efforts across the People’s Republic of China region, driving enrollment growth, cultivating strategic corporate relationships, and expanding Harvard Business School Executive Education’s presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with senior learning and development leaders and executive decision-makers.
- Partner with Program Directors and Business Development to drive regional growth strategies.
- Collaborate with Client Services and Corporate Marketing on lead management and client engagement.
- Develop territory strategies and manage opportunities in Salesforce.
- Plan and execute regional networking and client events.
- Manage incoming B2B leads and support a seamless client experience.
- Provide market intelligence on executive education trends in China.
- Promote the full Executive Education portfolio and related HBS offerings.
- Travel approximately 50%.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in direct sales or business development.
- Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China.

This position is based in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. Approximately 50% travel is required. A cover letter is required.
