Mohamed (MAS) AbdelSalam

Executive Director of Onsi Sawiris School of Business Executive Education, The American University in Cairo

An engineer by education, a marketer by profession, a leader by influence and a dreamer by choice!

With over three decades of experience, MAS has dedicated his career to challenging the status quo and obsessing with future potential—not just what has been or currently is. His professional focus has consistently been on identifying opportunities, mapping a clear trajectory toward an envisioned destination, and empowering teams to realize it.

This forward-thinking corporate background informs his current role leading Onsi Sawiris School of Business Executive Education. His mandate is to grow the operation to its full potential, significantly expanding its impact across the Middle East and Africa. This aligns directly with the school’s core mission: to develop entrepreneurial and responsible global leaders and professionals who can positively impact society.

Established in 1966, Onsi Sawiris School of Business Executive Education is a recognized center of excellence, providing Egypt and the wider region with specialized executive education through both open-enrollment programs and tailored business solutions for corporate clients.

MAS holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cairo University and earned his MBA from The American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1997. He further distinguishes himself as a Certified Corporate Dale Carnegie Trainer, a Game Changer Index GCologist, and a Certified Corporate Director.

“I am profoundly honored and privileged to be nominated to the UNICON Board. My journey with UNICON began six years ago when I transitioned from the corporate sector to lead Onsi Sawiris School of Business Executive Education at The American University in Cairo. Having participated in the UNICON Leadership Academy, I gained an invaluable understanding of this industry’s unique dynamics and witnessed firsthand the essential value UNICON provides to its members and the broader profession. In representing Africa, the oldest inhabited continent with the world’s youngest and fastest-growing population, as well as the Middle East, my contribution will highlight the immense needs and potential for capacity building and future-skilling across this vital region. It is my core ambition, as a member of the UNICON Board, to stimulate greater global cooperation between executive education schools, fostering a robust spirit of collaboration to advance our shared mission.”

We warmly welcome MAS and look forward to the dynamic contributions he will bring to the UNICON community! To learn more about UNICON’s governance and board election process, visit our Board Election Process Guide.
