UNICON Primary Representatives Meeting

UNICON Primary Representatives Meeting: First Global Gathering

The UNICON Primary Representatives Meeting marked a significant milestone as we hosted our first gathering of representatives from our 122 member schools. Understanding the global nature of our membership, we offered two time slots to ensure convenient participation across different time zones.

We are deeply grateful to all Primary Representatives who carved out time from their busy schedules to engage in these important sessions. The meetings were expertly facilitated by Melanie Weaver Barnett (Executive Director), Eric Bergemann, MIT (UNICON Board Chair), Shalini Bhatia, Stanford (UNICON Board Vice-Chair), Jean Choy, University of Washington and Katarina Hägg, Stockholm School of Economics (Membership Committee Co-chairs), and Marta Pimentel, Nova SBE and Shaun Rozyn, Duke Corporate Education (Communications Committee Co-Chairs).

Meeting Agenda & Outcomes

The comprehensive agenda covered several crucial areas:

  1. Primary Representative Responsibilities
Participants explored the vital role of Primary Representative and discussed ways to maximize the value of UNICON membership for their institutions.
  2. Strategic Priorities
Leaders shared insights into UNICON’s strategic objectives, encouraging active input from representatives to shape future initiatives.
  3. Voice of the Customer Survey Results
Our survey gathered valuable feedback from 147 members (30% Primary Representatives, 70% non-Primary Representatives), with participants worldwide:

Key findings include:

  • Strong appreciation and positive feedback for UNICON’s current initiatives and work
  • Conferences as the primary networking and information channel
  • Growing interest in AI’s role in executive education, particularly regarding business development and program design
  • Call for more professional development opportunities and accessible conferences and training
  • Members suggested increased engagement opportunities through online formats, greater focus on practical applications and case studies from peer institutions

Based on member feedback, we’ve already implemented some changes, including adjusting our newsletter frequency to monthly deliveries on Fridays, and focusing our social media presence on LinkedIn, which members identified as their preferred platform.

Interactive Discussions

Primary Representatives participated in focused group discussions on three key themes identified from the survey:

  • UNICON Research
  • Professional Development
  • Practical & Applicable Value

Looking Ahead

The active participation and thoughtful contributions from our Primary Representatives exemplify the collaborative spirit that makes UNICON truly special. Member engagement is at the heart of our organization’s success, and these sessions demonstrated the incredible value that comes from bringing our global community together. The UNICON Board and Committees will carefully review all insights gathered during these sessions to ensure our future initiatives continue to serve and support our member institutions.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all members who contributed to both the Voice of the Customer survey and these engaging sessions. Your involvement helps shape the future of our organization and strengthens our global executive education community.
