Leading a university-based executive education business requires a unique skillset. These leaders need to know and understand corporate and mid-cap businesses, business schools, executive education technology, executive learners, and how to run a for-profit business. They need to know the technology and the politics—and they must also know how to attain respect as a leader in each of those domains.
The Leadership Academy is for UNICON member school staff members with leadership potential who aspire to leading a university-based executive education business. Participants will work with senior industry leaders who contribute as faculty, alongside peer learners from schools around the globe.
The Academy explores how value is created, how that value is delivered to customers, how excellent operations are constructed and monitored, how alliances are built, how assets and finances are managed—and it does that while building leadership skills. The program includes webinars, mentoring, peer coaching, and an in-person session to coincide with the annual team conference on November 17th.
The 2026 Team Development Conference will be hosted by Arizona State University in Phoenix, AZ, November 18–20, 2026. The program begins in October 2026.
