UNICON is a global consortium of businessschoolbased executive education organizations with over 115 members worldwide. Our members are the faces of UNICON who make up our organization and help us fulfill our mission of providing executive educational professionals with the best resources they need to stay informed and succeed. We are fortunate to have members of diverse backgrounds, experience and expertise in education. Each member is vital to keeping UNICON on the cusp of industry trends and establishing us as a leader in the executive education industry.  

Our Global Mission

UNICON and its members provide a global reference for executive education. UNICON helps its members with developing their university-based executive education and better serving their clients through building alliances, developing unique products and services and providing outlets for collaboration. As a result, our members become the most sought-after learning partners and help shape the future of executive education. UNICON fosters the growth of university-based executive education by helping its members serve their clients better. 

Our community of member organizations accelerates the growth of leaders and managers through executive development initiatives, ultimately enhancing performance in public and private organizations globally.

This is accomplished by: 

Using collaboration to enhance the professionalism, effectiveness, and leadership of university-based executive education departments.

Creating forums to promote communication and support among leaders in executive education.

Providing products and services that enable providers to identify and fulfill client needs.

Building alliances with other organizations that also are industry experts in their field.

Our History

Founded in 1972 as an association of graduate-level executive education program directors, UNICON has evolved to be a driving force in the rapidly-changing mosaic of lifelong learning. UNICON now has over 1150 active individuals at 115 institutions around the world. 2022 marks our 50th anniversary where we will be celebrating 50 years of collaboration, innovation and evolution.

UNICON is founded as an association of executive education program directors.

1986

UNICON hosts its first conference outside the United States.

1997

The first non-U.S. Chairperson was elected to head the consortium. Of the seventy member schools, twenty-three are outside the U.S.

2000

The first UNICON Conference held in Asia had Shanghai as its venue.

UNICON surveys 12 US business schools on best practices in executive education.

Bill Scheurer appointed Executive Director.
