Renmin University of China (RUC) was the first public university established by the government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in 1950. Ever since its foundation, the University has maintained a close bond with various levels of government and state-owned enterprises.

It is a member university of both “Project 211” and “Project 985”, which symbolizes a premier status among Chinese universities.

In the 2017 national assessment of subject development, the University was placed as top-tier comprehensive university and achieved the A+ level (highest level) in social sciences, humanities, and business.
