Everything you need to plan your trip to the 2027 Directors Conference, May 4‐7 in Sydney and Melbourne. Getting to Australia is more straightforward than many travelers expect ‐ here are the questions we hear most often.
Not at all. Australia is well connected from every major region. Most travelers from Europe reach Sydney with a single stop, North America offers extensive nonstop options, and Asia is only a few hours away. Travel times are firmly in line with global long-haul norms, served by high-quality airlines and reliable infrastructure.
Europe
Most journeys are one stop, typically around 22–26 hours.
London → Singapore → Sydney (Singapore Airlines, Qantas)
Paris / Frankfurt / Amsterdam → Hong Kong → Sydney (Cathay Pacific)
Major hubs → Tokyo → Sydney (Japan Airlines, ANA)
One-stop routings via Dubai or Doha (Emirates, Qatar Airways) are also available.
North America
Extensive nonstop service, particularly from the West Coast.
Los Angeles / San Francisco → Sydney (Qantas, United, American) — ~14–15 hours
Dallas → Sydney (Qantas) — ~16–17 hours
Vancouver → Sydney (Air Canada, Qantas) — ~15–16 hours
From the East Coast, ~21–26 hours via a West Coast connection.
Asia
Frequent direct services, mostly 8–10 hours. Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok all offer direct flights to Sydney.
Latin America
Santiago → Sydney nonstop (~15 hours, LATAM), or one stop via Los Angeles.
Middle East
Dubai → Sydney (~13–14 hours, Emirates), Doha → Sydney (~14 hours, Qatar Airways).
Africa
One stop via Singapore, Dubai or Doha (~20–25 hours).
No — all travel between the two cities will be fully arranged by your hosts, AGSM and Melbourne Business School, and is included in the participant fee. It’s one of the world’s most efficient domestic routes, and we’ll ensure a seamless transition between locations. No logistics, no stress.
Booked three to six months ahead, return economy fares are typically AUD $1,800–$2,800 from Europe, $1,200–$2,200 from North America, and $700–$1,500 from Asia. Premium economy and business class are widely available across all routes. We recommend booking early to secure the best fares and connections.
