About the role

Do you want to play a pivotal role in the growth of Executive Education at Imperial? Lead generation is pivotal to support the growth of Executive Education and the development of Custom programmes. The role of the Business Development Coordinator is to develop a pipeline of Custom Client leads for Client Directors to follow up on, to help win new Custom business. The Business Development Coordinator will also introduce Open Programme and Apprenticeship Levy programmes as well as other Imperial offerings, as appropriate. Executive Education at Imperial continues to be a growing field. Building upon Imperial’s resources, intellectual assets and networks, the custom development programmes we create for organisations harness our distinctive position within one of the world’s top 10 STEM-B universities. We partner with clients to design a custom solution, leveraging our global network and multi-perspective ecosystem, where businesses, researchers and the next generation of innovators come together to solve some of the most important issues facing the world today.

 

 

What you would be doing

  • Create lists of potential people or companies to reach out to using LinkedIn and other sources.
  • Identify and develop new business contacts; in collaboration with colleagues in Executive Education and wider Imperial
  • Generating leads through various methods such as cold calling, networking, and social media.
  • Respond to incoming enquiries (via email, phone, website) with the highest levels of service excellence.
  • Follow up leads generated by marketing campaigns and events.
  • Identify and confirm interested potential customers for Executive Education and share these with the Client Directors (and wider Exec Ed team, where appropriate) for follow-up.
  • Develop efficient customer focussed processes and correspondence.
  • Provide support at events, conferences etc. where appropriate, to generate new leads
  • Where required, provide administrative support to Client Directors in writing client proposals
  • Where appropriate, spot opportunities to identify new industries or markets for lead generation.
  • Prepare short, clear summaries about companies for Client Directors to use in follow-ups.
  • Feedback to the marketing team on the success of lead generation campaigns

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience of business development within a business school or commercial training / consultancy context
  • Experience of providing a responsive, customer-focused service both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience of prioritising tasks and managing busy workloads successfully to ensure that deadlines and targets are met.
  • Experience of using databases/CRM to store, manipulate and retrieve information.
  • Understanding of business development and sales processes
  • Broad knowledge of, and an interest in, Executive Education
  • Well networked within the Executive Education/business school community
  • Self-directed and driven – able to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong Business Development, communication and listening skills to build excellent connections with potential clients
  • Ability and willingness to build networks and develop contacts
  • Comfortable in communicating with internal and external senior stakeholders
  • Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and networking skills
